Lin Breakey
Photography started early in Lin Breakey’s life
when she was promoted to capture family vacations and memorable occasions, as
her father had a tendency to leave out important members.
Her photography took on a greater importance
after having completed a CTC diploma course at McGill University and,
subsequently, owning and operating her own travel agency in 1975. The world became her studio. Each and every new destination presented a challenge
to capture, not just the landscape, but it’s uniqueness.
After retiring from the travel industry, and
moving to the Okanagan Valley in the mid 90’s, her passion for photography was
renewed with the arrival of the digital age.
The symbiotic relationship between travel and
photography was also renewed. Retirement
allowed for leisurely trips to the west coast and exploring it’s rugged beauty,
longer journeys exploring the vast prairie landscapes, to Eastern Canadian vistas during fall colours, and return visits to
favourite European hideaways.
